"I give my highest recommendation to the Kaia Yoga Prenatal teacher training, whether you have the goal of teaching prenatal yoga or simply to learn about the birth experience if you are even considering becoming a mother someday, or are currently expecting, or if your childbearing years are already past. What you learn in this training is absolutely vital to your experience as a woman in this world - through knowledge of anatomy and the labor and birth process, it will give you more confidence in your own body and intuition; it will give you emotional and spiritual insight into your parents' experience birthing you; it will alert you to possible roadblocks in your birth experience if you are expecting and how to overcome them; and it will allow you to share this important but often ignored information with family and friends to help others have a positive birth experience.
I took the Kaia Prenatal training when I was pregnant with my first son, Jonathan, and it completely empowered me and changed how I gave birth. Before the training, I was planning to give birth in a hospital with my OBGYN, but after learning about the differences between the medical model of birth and the midwifery model of birth, I decided I ultimately felt most confident and comfortable with a homebirth since I had a very healthy, normal pregnancy. I gave birth to Jonathan at home in the most calm, focused way, and my husband Nathan was able to catch him. The entire experience brought our family incredibly close together, and I feel that giving birth in this way was the most amazing experience of my life. That is why I love teaching Prenatal yoga - to help other women and families have the ideal birth experience for them, whether it is a birth at home, at a birth center, or in a hospital. To me, it is most meaningful to be knowledgeable about all of your options as a mother giving birth and then consciously choosing what is best for you and your family, and graciously accepting limitations as well.
The birth experience is one of the central experiences of your life, whether you are a mother or not, and the Kaia training is in my opinion the best childbirth education class you can take." - Johanna Hall
