What in your practice inspires you to teach?
There are many interpretations of Yoga. One is To Come Together and another is To Attain what was previously Unattainable. Practicing yoga inspires me to bring my students together on their mats and be able to give them the tools they need to manage their lifestyles.
Tell us a little about your yoga journey and how this influences what you bring across in your teaching?
My Yoga Journey began about 15 years ago when I was having problems with my back and my daughter Benaifer gave me a Christmas gift of Yoga classes !!! Gina and Stan took over the studio and as I continued my practice with Gina as my teacher I was inspired and encouraged by her to further my own practice by taking the opportunity of going to workshops and trainings with all these gifted yoga teachers. I learned a new lifestyle to manage my health and my curiosity about this ancient science took me back to my Indian roots to study and observe the healing powers of yoga with TKV DESIKACHAR. It is what truly confirmed my desire to come back and deepen my studies in yoga. I now delight in sharing everything that l have learned and continue to learn teaching stories and lessons from the ancient yoga scriptures in Patanjali's Yoga Sutra to my students and watching their transformation with compassion and patience to see them evolve with their practice.
What has been a few highlights of your training at Kaia Yoga?
Completing my 500 hour Training with Gina , Stan and a panel of accomplished yoga masters has been the most humbling, learning blessed experience for me. Having the opportunity to learn and study with accomplished yoga teachers and fellow yogis has allowed me to understand myself better and have a greater appreciation for the gift of being a yoga teacher.
What makes teaching at Kaia Yoga a unique experience?
When I returned from my trip to India having spent time in the seat of the most authentic form of yoga at The Krishnamacharya Mandiram I knew the only place that could provide this true essence was Kaia Yoga where I found I could continue to learn and practice the authentic teachings of Yoga.
