Sun Salutations are the “core” part of the Vinyasa Yoga system.
Traditionally, Surya Namaskara has 9 movements that are all linked with the breath. Each movement is guided by the quality of the breath and practitioners are working to even out the movements and even out the breath.
Through Sun Salutations we start to develop mindfulness working to be present through ever movement and breath we take. This focus is to be carried through the whole asana practice.
