What in your practice inspires you to teach? Practice for me is a place to explore me and what is happening inside me . My breathing and gaze brings me inside to see how I truly feel in each moment and offers me the opportunity to remain present and let go.
Tell us a little about your yoga journey: When I was 19 years old I took my first yoga class. I had injured my back and was encouraged to try yoga. Yes it helped the pain but more than anything I felt calm and that was amazing for my focus and concentration. Teaching is like doing practice for me. I stay present with each breath my students take and it brings more joy and peace in my experience as a teacher.
What is your favorite activity outside of yoga? I love spending time with my children! They are so precious and time goes by so quick so the more I can get with them the better:) Yoga helps me remain calm and less reactive to what comes up as a parent. My practice provides me with the ability to be present and enjoy them fully!
What makes teaching at Kaia yoga a unique experience? It is really hard to explain honestly. I love what Gina and I have created and thoroughly enjoying going to practice at 4:30am and teaching our traditional Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Program in Greenwich from 6-10am each day.
