6-7:30pm: What is ISHTA/ISHTA Tantra: Learn about the foundations of ISHTA Yoga as developed by Alan and his father, Mani Finger, in South Africa over 50 years ago. ISHTA Yoga blends the ancient and contemporary sciences of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda. It is an authentic lineage of modern yogis which caters to the individual through alignment based flow, breath work, and visualization.
7:30-9pm: Your Body, your Power: The 7 Segments of Alignment: Learn about the ISHTA seven segments of alignment, which relates to the seven chakras. In this lecture we will explore the physical body as a density of energy, and understand how each segment has a physical, spiritual, and psychological quality. Find out how to bring each segment into balance, and how your body is not the obstacle to freedom, but the gateway to it.
9:30-11am: Asana + Meditation Practice Integrating Kriya Techniques (Sa/Hum, Hum/Sa) “Sa” is the sound for inspiration, and “Hum” is the sound for transformation. In this class, Sarah will explore the ancient kriya technique of Sa Hum in the asana practice to tap into the unified field of potential that is all around us and manifest it into our living. She will integrate the Hum Sa technique in the meditation practice, leading us out of the unconscious and into a state of super-conscious, which is unbound and unlimited. Learn how to use these techniques on a daily basis both in yoga and in living.
11am-12:30pm: Kriya Yoga lecture Most human beings are governed by their unconscious, which is developed through the programming of one’s life experiences. Living in the unconscious inhibits us from experiencing insight and bliss in each moment of our living. In this session, we will explore the anatomy of the subtle body, and integrating them into the asana and pranayama practice can lead us out of the unconscious and into a state of super-conscious, which is unbound and unlimited.
12:30-1:30pm Lunch Break
1:30-3:30pm: The Chakras The chakras are the headquarters of each element in our body, and they have a profound effect on our physical, emotional, and energetic state. In this session, we will explore how the different chakras manifest and can come into balance through our yoga practice. Alan will teach you how to use the tools of kriya and meditation, while Sarah Platt-Finger will teach you about the emotional qualities of each chakra, and how we can use them for self-empowerment.
3:30-5:30pm: Pranayama, Bandhas, and Pranayama Techniques Pranayama means to extend and direct the life force energy within you. In this session, you will learn about the science of pranayama and the bandhas, "locks" of energy. Learn how to use basic pranayama techniques both regulate your nervous system and alter your consciousness.
9:30-11am: Asana Practice Integrating 7 Segments Explore and embody the ISHTA seven segments of alignment through asana. In this practice we will explore the physical body from a Tantric perspective and understand how each segment has a physical, spiritual, and psychological quality. Find out how to bring each segment into balance, and how that creates balance on a subtle-energetic level as well.
11am - 12:30pm: Meditation Lecture: Learn about the state of yoga from Tantric master Alan Finger. In the lecture we will explore the science of meditation and how it affects our mind, brain waves, and the nervous system. Understand the different levels of samadhi as explained by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.
12:30-1:30pm: Lunch Break
1:30-2:30: Focusing Unbound Intelligence - Genius - Into Your Living (Arta Vattva Samyama) This lecture will teach you about how to bring the inspiration from your meditation into your living via the chakras. Each chakra is a different portal of energy to help you tune into different qualities of living. Using mantra and mudra, Sarah and Alan will teach you how to bring infinite intelligence into your living.
2:30-4pm: Chakra Meditation: The chakras are energetic wheels of energy that work as the headquarters of each element in our body: earth, water, fire, air, and space. They have a profound effect on our physical, emotional, and energetic state. In this session, we will explore the different yantra, or shapes, and mantra, sounds, that relate to each chakra; bringing the elements of your body into harmony and alignment with the greater field of consciousness.
4-5:30pm: Q + A Open questions for Alan and Sarah to close the weekend.
