Hip Opening: Sthira-Sukham-Asanam! (Steady Open Seat)
Suitable for Advanced Beginners and Intermediate Students.
"Asana" literally means, “seat." The hips, whether tight, unstable, or a frustrating combination of the two, can often be the most stubborn part of an asana practice. Because an aggressive practice with force will lead to injury, we’ll learn to safely stabilize the hips, lower back, and pelvis to welcome sthira-sukham-asanam. This class is sequenced with a series of luxuriously extended standing, seated, and supine postures to uncover the habitual tension areas of your pelvis, hips, and lower spine. Refine your yogic seat and reconnect to your own power by releasing tensions and emotions that are holding you back.
