Cleaning and Disinfecting
Kaia Yoga will be using hospital-grade, CDC and OSHA-approved disinfectant to clean ALL surfaces after every class. This includes: Yoga rooms, common areas, bathrooms, cubbies, desks, floors and light switches. Any surface that is exposed to customers or staff will be disinfected multiple times daily, and before and after every single class. There will be minimum of 45 minutes between each class to allow for sanitization prior to the next group of students entering the studio.
-In addition, we will be getting the studio professionally disinfected once a week.
Temperature Check/ Handwashing
All staff members will have their temperature checked before entering the studio. Additionally, all staff members will be required to thoroughly wash their hands according to CDC guidelines immediately upon entering.
Masks & Gloves
All Kaia Yoga desk staff will be wearing facemasks. In addition, instructors and students will be asked to wear masks to enter and exit the studio. Masks may be removed only when students are on their mat. We will have gloves available for students, so please ask one of our staff memebers
Class Sign up
Class preregistration is required since we need to limit class sizes at this time.This will require you to have a credit card on file and we will be enforcing a 24-hour cancellation Policy.
If you do not show to class, you will be charged, if you have a monthly membership you will be charged a drop-in rate ($25) and if you have a class card the class will be deducted from your package.
Everyone will also be required to sign a new and updated waiver prior to practicing.
At this time, we will not be offering any mat rentals, and require you to bring your own props.
Contactless Booking & Check In
When coming into the studio and exiting the studio please stay to the right at all times. All class bookings must be made at least 24 hours before the class start time via our website or the Mind body App. We will not be allowing walk-ins. We ask that customers arrive 10 minutes before class to form a socially distanced line outside the studio. You will be invited into the room one-by-one and asked to go directly to a spot that will be marked. Please bring a limited number of items into the studios. We recommend only bringing your yoga items (Mat/props), water, and keys/phone if necessary. Cubbies outside and inside will be available for your limited items, shoes must be put in the cubbies outside of the room.
On the app store please download the Mindbody App. This will allow you to register for the class and again you must register 24 hours before the class. You will still have to go to the front desk and sign in, but it will remain a contactless sign in. There are floor markers to help maintain a social distance of 6 feet away from the desk staff. If you have questions, we ask that you stand on the designated spot.
We will have sanitizing stations in each studio in multiple areas.
Bathrooms and Changing Rooms
Our changing rooms and showers will be closed. We encourage you to only bring the necessities.
Our restrooms will be open for necessary use. There will be a floor marker outside the restroom. Please wait for your turn at the designated spot.
Please bring your own water. Water will be available to purchase at each studio, but there will be no cash transactions only credit card transactions will be processed.
Our dressing rooms will be closed, so students will not be able to try on any retail. Our boutique is still available to purchase items, but we ask that you avoid touching items as much as possible. If you’d like to purchase an item, please stand on the floor marker while waiting in line. All sales are FINAL. We will not be able to accept any returns.
Our mats will be socially distanced at 6 ft apart and no masks are required, and each studio has a limited amount of student in each class. We will not be doing hands on adjustments at this time. There will be NO late entries to the studio.
In each studio, there are mat markers on the floor. The top of the mat must be lined up with a mat marker.
The studio will be sanitized with hospital grade sanitizer between classes. After class, please wait for your row to be dismissed and please leave the studio directly after class. The staff will be disinfecting all surfaces between classes.
All students will remain 6 ft apart for our outdoor classes and no masks are required.
For Westport outside only: Please check in at the front desk and bring all your belongings outside as you will exit from the outside space.
Please make sure to practice social distancing when in close, shared spaces like the bathrooms, and studio rooms. There are markers placed around each studio to help maintain a safe distance.
If you are sick STAY HOME. If you have a cough, fever or Symptoms of COVID- 19 please do not come into the studio until you’re symptom free and fever free for three days! Below are some of the follow symptoms listed from the CDC: Fever, Shortness of breath, coughing, sneezing, Loss of smell or taste, Nausea, Vomiting or diarrhea.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has tested positive, we ask you not to come to the studio for 14 days or until you have tested negative for COVID-19.
We encourage both students and staff to Limit person-to person contact. Although it is tempting to stop and talk to your instructor or a fellow yogi, please do not stop and talk to them at this time. We ask that you exit the building promptly for the safety of your fellow students and yourself. Please maintain a social distance of 6 feet between one another.
Going forward we will continuing to monitor the situation. We will do everything we possibly can to keep our community safe and we ask that you do the same. In the event that there is a reported case of COVID-19 in your studio and you were potentially in contact with the individual, you’ll be notified immediately. From there, we’ll take the proper safety precautions to disinfect the studio from top to bottom. We have no way to predict what will come over these next few months, but with your safety in mind, we are going to prepare and respond to each situation as needed.
