In Yoga you are trying to soften to release; arm balancing requires you to firm up around that gentleness to fly. Core stability is the missing link in connecting the power of your legs and seat to an open heart and shoulders. Arm balances require you to lift your legs, working backwards through the abs and core. They do require arm strength, but it is also about integrating your core… the body becomes a whole.
A lot of postural habits become apparent when you take your legs off the ground. Arm balances give you a sense of accomplishment, helping you to articulate your personal power in life.
