This training will help deepen your understanding of anatomy and how the body works in asana practice. We’ll cover the major joints and muscles of the body and use that knowledge to explore the biomechanics of common asanas. You’ll learn to see and feel anatomical variations between students and how to make individual modifications to help your students get the most out of their practice

In the sacred tradition of Reiki training, a Reiki master is empowered with the energetic ability to initiate others into the Reiki system of natural healing. Once that ability is hardwired into our energetic system through master level Reiki initiation, it changes life for the better by raising our vibration and attracting situations, people, and circumstances that are in alignment with our soul’s highest purpose

In this next level Yin Yoga Training we’ll continue to explore skeletal variations through practice and discussion, this time focusing on the Caterpillar (hamstrings + back body) and Dog (upper body) families of Yin postures. We will learn ways to use the wall and other things around the house to support our practice in addition to learning some assisted one-on-one techniques for when COVID is history! Joe Barnett, longtime student and assistant to Paul Grilley, will be joining us for two days to share his invaluable insight on Yin Yoga and Skeletal Variations, with a special emphasis on the Chakras

Every form of yoga has many benefits that go beyond the asana practice. In this gentler approach, teachers use pranayama, repetitive movements synchronized with breath, clear alignment cues in postures to bring the body in balance, to build strength, mental and physical stamina, and increase overall health

yoga for trauma

For many of us, the practices of yoga have changed our lives. That statement may seem dramatic, but it’s true. These practices teach us to turn inward, to pay attention, and to notice without judgment. They enable us to find balance in our bodies and minds, as well as develop our overall well-being. Because of those benefits, yoga is an invaluable asset for veterans who are coping with trauma-related psychological difficulties.

This training will focus on incorporating slow, mindful flow yoga sequences into class warm ups, prior to meditation, and/or restorative practices. Gain the ability to provide a nourishing, introspective, and restoring practice for yourself and the students you teach
