Shari Balaish

Shari Lieberman Balaish discovered the practice of yoga over twenty-five years ago. A lifelong athlete, an avid exercise seeker and early aerobics instructor, yoga offered an integrated path of discovery. Shari is an E-RYT500 certified instructor, having received her 200-hour certification from Laws of Yoga with Gwen Lawrence in 2010. At the same time, she started practicing at Kaia Yoga in Greenwich, enrolled in the kids Yoga training and began teaching kids and adults. In 2018 Shari completed her 300-hour teacher certification from Kaia. Continuing education is her passion, taking a deeper dive with renowned teachers Doug Keller, Schuyler Grant, the Katonah method, Jillian Pransky and more. Her classes seek to nurture the supportive power of breath, focused around alignment – exploring asanas as a microcosm of life. Shari offers a mindful vinyasa flow, set to an awesome playlist. As Shari’s practice and teaching evolved, she discovered that it is both our strength AND flexibility that gives us our true power. She believes that returning again and again to our practice we gain little nuggets of wisdom that nurture our ability to navigate life and allows for adaptability and ease of being in an ever-changing world. Shari receives the greatest joy witnessing students discover their own “aha” moments of growth and connection.
